Opening a New Store in 30 Days: The ProSite Countdown
From empty shell to grand opening: the 30-day programme ProSite uses to hand over a store that is built, wired, merchandised and staffed, ready to sell from day one.
A new store has one chance to make a first impression. If the lights flicker, the POS freezes or the shelves look half-dressed on opening day, customers notice, and so does the brand.
Table Of Content
At ProSite we open stores with one coordinated team: fit-out, electrical and low-current works, visual merchandising (VM) and operations. Instead of five contractors handing the job to each other, one team owns the whole countdown.

D-30: Handover and site survey
The countdown starts the day the mall hands over the space. Our engineers measure the site, check the drawings against reality and agree a detailed programme with the brand and the mall management. Every task after this point has a date and an owner.
D-21: Fit-out and MEP works
This is the heaviest phase. Our teams install the electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm and emergency lighting, then build and fix the shopfitting: wall bays, gondolas, cash wrap and fitting rooms. Because services and fixtures are coordinated on one plan, nothing has to be cut or moved later.
D-14: Systems live
Two weeks out, the store must “think”. We commission and test:
- CCTV covering the entrance, cash desk, sales floor and stockroom, with NVR recording and remote view
- Network and Wi-Fi for POS and back-office systems
- POS terminals, printers and scanners
- Security gates and alarm systems
Testing early leaves time to fix issues calmly instead of on opening morning.
D-7: Stock and visual merchandising
Stock arrives and our VM team turns an empty store into a selling space: windows, walls, focal tables and mannequins, all following the brand guidelines and the store’s best-seller plan. Lighting is re-aimed at the product, not the floor.
D-3: Team training and rehearsal
A beautiful store with an untrained team still loses sales. Our operations trainer, with more than 16 years in retail, trains staff and managers on customer service, POS, stockroom routines, and opening and closing procedures. We finish with a full mock trading day.
D-0: Grand opening
On opening day ProSite is on the floor with your team, ready to solve anything on the spot, from a lamp to a till.

The 20-point checklist we close before doors open
Before the shutter goes up, every point on our readiness checklist is checked and signed off across four areas: building and safety, systems, visual merchandising, and people and operations. If a point is not closed, the store is not ready.
Why one team makes the difference
- One programme, one responsible party. No gaps between contractors.
- Faster handover. Services, fixtures and VM are planned together from day one.
- A store that sells from the first hour. Built, tested, merchandised and staffed.
ProSite has delivered store projects for brands such as Babyshop, Splash and Max in Baghdad, Karbala and Basra.
